About Gene Design
Gene Design is a web tool for designing oligonucleotides for PCR-based gene synthesis, powered by DNAWorks — originally developed by David Hoover at the NIH.
How It Works
- Enter your protein or DNA sequence
- Set your desired oligonucleotide parameters (length, melting temperature)
- DNAWorks optimizes codon usage and designs overlapping oligonucleotides
- Download the results and order your oligos
Features
- Codon optimization for multiple organisms
- Melting temperature uniformity across overlaps
- Repeat and mispriming detection
- Restriction site avoidance
- Multiple solution generation
